Overwhelmed? Too many ideas—or maybe not enough? Procrastination getting you down? For whatever reason, you just can’t seem to get started—or your awesome idea is in progress, but now you’re stuck.
So many of us who write, paint, sew, draw, dance, make music, or pursue other creative outlets are susceptible to the issues listed above. We’ve all heard of writer’s block. We all know the frustration of wanting to work on a new project but having no idea where to start—if we even know what we want to do. It’s a problem that can leave many of us dejected, frustrated, and despondent, afraid we’ll never get back to our creativity again, but the problem can be solved!
I’ve been there, and I am eager to work with other creative souls who want to reach their highest heights. I know how it is to feel lost for ideas, to want to work but not know where to start, and to throw my hands up in frustration before deciding perhaps it was all a silly idea anyway, that it had already been done better, and that I should be doing more practical things with my time—or just catching up on TV. I know how part of my soul seems to shrivel up if it’s been too long since I’ve sung with a choir, and how the voices of characters pop into my head at the least likely (and often most inopportune!) times to share their thoughts with me, only to clam up when I have paper in hand. Creativity is a calling, and being blocked can make us miserable—and because it doesn’t work as logically as a math problem or a science experiment, it’s much easier to be thrown off track by a wayward sense of inspiration, a well-meaning friend or family member, or the voices of our own inner critic and self-doubt.
Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching™ (KMCC) is a trademarked model of creativity coaching that deals with exactly these problems—and in a non-linear way that respects the ups and downs of the creative process and personality. Designed by Jill Badonsky, M.Ed., with added elements from Dr. Robert Maurer and his book One Small Step Can Change Your Life: the Kaizen Way, KMCC™ can help you understand why you’re blocked, and provide fun prescriptions to help you get moving again. Further details about KMCC™ can be found on the KaizenMuse.com website. I was trained by Jill Badonsky in the spring of 2011 and certified in August 2011.
I also offer a free 30-minute coaching call so that we can get to know each other and see if we’re a good coaching match. There is no obligation of any kind on your part! To schedule your call, please contact me and I’ll get back to you right away.
